Meet Bucharest’s TRG, a dark, 2-Step riddim grinder looking to rebel against the half-step template that has been dominating Dubstep, bringing basslines the size of glaciers. A Drum’n’Bass journo-turned-DJ/producer, he now makes waves with the very guys he was so keen to write about in the magazines and websites he used to pitch to. Recording on Hotflush, Hessle Audio, Tectonic, Tempa, and a whole bunch of other labels, the excitement around him has grown steadily with the likes of Radio 1’s Mary Anne Hobbs championing his dubs and DJs Pinch, Distance, Blackdown and JamieVex’d providing support.
